On Friday, I spent an interesting couple of hours toodling around Chinook Mall in search of a Bratz doll on my god-daughter's Christmas list. Photo courtesy of the Sears website...(P.S. Sears don't sue me, I have no money!)
I have to admit, I'm a Barbie Girl..no, stop singing the damned song...I prefer them over these big headed, freakishly small bodied, overly made up creatures. But since I'm old and not in the "now", I should refrain from saying too much.
So here I am, looking at the Bay first off. Wall to wall Bratzitude! So many to choose from and all on sale, which me already being in hell was certainly enough to make this excursion at least bearable. So she wants "Diamonds Forever Sheridan". No luck here. They had all the other characters except this one. Did you know this particular doll is really really pricey? Of course you didn't, it's not like you shop for these in your everyday life...but I'm digressing here...
Anyways, I checked out two other stores before going back to the Bay, since their selection was far superior to the other stores.
I wandered, back and forth, trying to reconcile buying her one of these odd dolls. I padded over to the Barbies and briefly considered getting a Fashion Fever doll for her, but the ones they had were fairly plain, and one even had really twisty squished eyes...like her poor head got jammed in the stamper or something. Back to the Bratz wall. Seriously, they were piled from floor to ceiling...Punk rock, Hollywood, Glitter, Rock Star, Cowboy, Orange or Green legged...whatever...I have no idea...
I found one on sale though, and although the size of her noggin is rather jarring, she did have cute accessories and a dog! I know it's not the one she really really wanted, but I figured this one would appeal to her. I also found some other associated goodies to include in her stocking to go with.
Side note...did you know that this doll's shoes ARE her feet? You take off her shoes and she's left with these little stumps!
Quincy says HI! He's snoring up a storm on the couch right now, wiggling in his dreams, which is something I should be doing right about now..well except for the wiggling part.
